First snow of the season

>> Thursday, October 4, 2007

On the morning of September 29th, it was raining when we awoke and the temperature was 50 F.

By 1:30 PM the temperature had dropped cold enough to turn the rain into snow.

It snowed for just over two hours but the ground was too warm for it to stick.

Some Finches were trying desperately to escape the cold rain/snow mix by clinging to the cross members on the shed doors as well as the threshold. Notice the birds at the top of the doors.
